Jennie Smith

Director of Finance & Operations

Jennie grew up in Broken Bow, NE and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with an emphasis in Human Resources. She joined the Divine Shepherd staff as Director of Finance and Operations in 2019. She is experienced in church administration, business management and missions. She and her family served for 15 years in Russia and Germany with the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Office of International Mission from 1999-2014. Prior to moving to Omaha, she worked in Northern Virginia as Ministry Administrator at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church & School. Most recently, she served on the staff of GracePoint Institute for Relational Health as Practice Administrator. Jennie and her husband, Rev. Dr. Brent Smith have three children: Zachary, Katelyn and Sophia. Jennie is most influenced by the passages in scripture that encourage us to love God and love each other from Deuteronomy 6:5 and Matthew 22:37-39.
